Trump fires AG Pam Bondi, ‘a Great American Patriot and a loyal friend’

President Donald Trump has fired Attorney General Pam Bondi after a brief and tumultuous tenure, the president confirmed on social media Thursday. “Pam Bondi is a Great American Patriot and a loyal friend, who faithfully served as my Attorney General over the past year,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “We love Pam, and she will be transitioning to a much needed and important new job in the private sector, to be announced at a date in the near future.” Trump said Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche will step into the role on an interim basis. Sources familiar with the matter told the Associated Press that the president is likely to replace Bondi with Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin.
