CAL outlines flights for T&T students in Jamaica

Caribbean Air­lines says it was con­tact­ed on Oc­to­ber 23 by the Trinidad and To­ba­go High Com­mis­sion in Ja­maica and the Min­istry of Ter­tiary Ed­u­ca­tion and Skills Train­ing re­gard­ing pos­si­ble flight arrange­ments for Trinidad and To­ba­go na­tion­als study­ing at The Uni­ver­si­ty of the West In­dies cam­pus­es in Ja­maica, ahead of Hur­ri­cane Melis­sa. The air­line said in a state­ment that it shared its sched­uled op­er­a­tions for Oc­to­ber 23 and 24 with both agen­cies. On Oc­to­ber 23, Caribbean Air­lines op­er­at­ed its reg­u­lar ser­vice BW 419 from Kingston to Trinidad via An­tigua and Bar­ba­dos, de­part­ing at 2:55 p.m. with 22 avail­able seats. To se­cure its as­sets and en­sure the safe re­turn of crew and air­craft to Trinidad, the air­line said it op­er­at­ed two ad­di­tion­al non-stop flights from Kingston on Oc­to­ber 24. Flight BW 405 de­part­ed at 10:30 a.m. with 121 avail­able seats, and BW 415 de­part­ed at 11:25 a.m. with 38 avail­able seats. The Nor­man Man­ley In­ter­na­tion­al Air­port closed on Oc­to­ber 25 at 9:00 p.m. and is sched­uled to re­open at 12:00 p.m. on Oc­to­ber 29. Caribbean Air­lines stat­ed that it con­tin­ues to mon­i­tor the sit­u­a­tion as Hur­ri­cane Melis­sa pro­gress­es.
