The curious case of George Papadopoulos
Special Counsel Robert Mueller scored a huge victory on Monday, and experts are claiming it wasnít clinching the duo of Paul Manafort and Rick Gates - but Trumpís former foreign policy adviser, George Papadopoulos - who was the real October surprise. Papadopoulos has not only agreed to a plea deal, he has admitted to making a false statement to FBI investigators about his contacts with foriegners claiming to have high-level Russian connections. His plea deal means that Mueller now has a cooperating witness from inside the Trump campaignís interactions with the Russians. According to reports, the charges revealed by Mueller, managed to touch all levels of the Trump campaign. Muellerís meticulous investigation saw him exploring all possible angles - including personal, financial wrongdoing of those involved and exposed, to an extent, a concerted effort by one campaign official to arrange a meeting with Russian officials.
